SOS Devices

SOS Devices are also known as Panic Alarms, Emergency Devices, and Lone Worker Devices. These SOS devices are a necessary precaution when lone working situations are part of employees’ daily work routines.  IMC Guardian, our latest SOS device, offers the most technologically-advanced systems, keeping you and your staff safe on the job. One click of the panic button alerts our monitoring station - live GPS location is recorded, a call is initiated, and an emergency police response arranged, if needed.

  • SOS/Emergency Alarm includes two-way audio with dedicated ARC support

  • Roaming SIM which connects to any network, anywhere

  • BS 8484:2022 certified

  • GPS functionality provides pin-point location details

  • Real-time lone worker tracking

  • Suitable as a device for home-visits (social workers, etc.), office or retail staff

WHAT IS A CONFIRMED SOS DEVICE/EMERGENCY ALARM?

We have two recommended solutions. IMC’s SOS Fob device is designed to look like a key fob, discreet to carry, and easy to use. The IMC Guardian is a 3-in-1 solution where your ID badge is used for access control (Proximity chip on ID card), facial recognition (your photo ID) and the SOS Emergency Device (with all its features).

Activating the SOS buttons on the Fob and Guardian devices signals ARC (IMC’s Alarm Receiving Centre). ARC then responds in seconds. Additionally, each device has its own URN (unique reference number).

An emergency/standalone remote panic alarm comprising of a Police URN response is a confirmed system, meaning you get a swifter (police and security) response from our alarm receiving centre, than a regular emergency call would receive.

A confirmed device indicates a genuine alarm. When activated, you immediately receive the highest level police response when needed.

On SOS activation, GPS coordinates are sent, a 2-way audio call begins, ARC listens to and records the call, communicates (if safe to do so) with you, tracks your location and escalates for a police response when required.

ARC’s high response monitoring station status provides faster access to emergency services. The user needs only to press a button once to ensure their location and information is immediately available to the ARC, to police, your HQ, and are all detailed in your security reports, etc.

The roaming SIM automatically connects to the strongest network. Battery life lasts up to 30 hours.

Fast response security means confidence for lone workers and all staff facing potential danger, or requiring assistance.

What does IMC’s SOS app do for vulnerable staff and lone workers?

We have a cost-effective solution your staff can download onto their mobile phones and tablets, avoiding the need for an additional piece of technology to carry around.

There are many features, such as a panic alarm button, used when the individual feels unsafe, in an emergency situation, and in many other scenarios. Hybrid workers may benefit from using the app on their devices for the times they are away from home and require support, assistance or advice. The timer feature brings a great deal of comfort. It can be used to inform our monitoring station that the individual is about to perform a task which they think will take a set amount of time. If they do not respond after the time has passed, the alarm receiving centre calls them to check if they are OK.

With no hardware/capital investment, IMC’s SOS app requires a simple license fee subscription only. Available in both the iPhone/Apple Store and the Android Store, most devices are catered for. A low cost implementation solution for OMC’s SOS App delivers all the functionality a dedicated device offers* at a competitive rate.
